Happy Birthday to Google…!!!
Born 10 years ago, the Google Internet search engine has grown into the electronic center of human knowledge by indexing billions of web pages as well as images, books and videos.” That’s true, except that Google is 9 years old. Even if Larry Page and Sergey Brin registered the google.com domain in 1997, Google was officially launched one year later.
So Google opened its doors officially in September 1998. The exact date when it celebrates birthday has moved around over the years, depending on when people feel like having cake. For more on Google’s history read here. Wikipedia says Sept. 7 is the incorporation date but provides no reference to prove this. Google itself also provides no guidance. The California Secretary Of State’s company search tells that Sept. 4, 1998 is when the papers were filed.

The Google home page is sporting the special logo above, celebrating the company’s ninth birthday, with one of the Gs turned into a nine.
